Geography
Year
2023
Document Type

Summary

This regulation sets binding EU-wide targets and requirements for the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure—including electric recharging, hydrogen refuelling, shore-side electricity for vessels/aircraft and liquefied methane stations—to support the transition to low- and zero-emission transport across all modes. It replaces Directive 2014/94/EU and mandates that Member States provide sufficient publicly accessible infrastructure, ensure interoperability, transparent user payment/information systems, and submit regular planning and reporting on progress.
