In 2008, the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030) was adopted pursuant to the Emiri decision No. 44 of 2008 and published with the aim of transforming Qatar into an advanced country capable of sustainable development with the goal of providing a high standard of living for all citizens by the year 2030.
The QNV 2030 has 4 pillars: Human Pillar, Social Pillar, Economic Pillar, Environmental Pillar. The Environmental Pillar states that one of Qatar’s environmental development outcomes is to play “a proactive and significant regional role in assessing the impact of climate change and mitigating its negative impacts, especially on countries of the Gulf”.
