Summary

According to the Ordinance(2018:1428) on the climate adaptation work of authorities, the authorities concerned shall draw up an action plan. This action plan is based on the climate and vulnerability analysis developed by the Swedish Transport Agency.

The measures in the action plan aim to develop work on climate adaptation throughout the authority. The measures that have been decided will be implemented primarily by the Roads and Railways Department and the Maritime and Aviation Department in collaboration with the relevant departments and activities.

The overall objective of transport policy is to ensure a socio-economically efficient and long-term sustainable transport supply for citizens and businesses throughout the country.

The Agency sees a need to inform and cooperate with the people/sections involved in the regulatory process at the Swedish Transport Agency. In the traffic safety supervision of railways, the Agency has a mandate to integrate issues about the actors' management of risks resulting from a changing climate. There is also a need to continue to monitor the impacts of climate on airport accessibility.
