Summary

The Ministry for Coordination of Environmental Affairs (MICOA) invited the Global Gender Office of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN GGO) on behalf of the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) to facilitate a process of revisiting and enhancing the action plan portion of the 2010 Gender, Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan. The 2010 Plan was a trailblazer as Mozambique was the first country in the world to create such a plan.

MICOA selected six sectors to focus on for this Plan: water, agriculture, health, mitigation (including energy and forests), DRR, and coasts and fisheries.
