Summary

The National Climate Agreement (2019) builds on, and replaces the Energy Accord of 2013. Rather than focusing solely on energy policy, the National Climate Agreement addresses all greenhouse gas emissions.

The Energy Agreement for sustainable growth (Energieakkoord) included agreements on energy efficiency, more renewable energy and more jobs. The government has made these agreements including employers, unions and environmental organisations. The government sees the agreement as an important step towards 100% renewable energy. The Dutch Energieakkoord replaced the Clean and Efficient Programme.
