Pakistan's first energy efficiency and conservation strategy has been developed by NEECA to achieve the goal of 3 MTOE energy saving by 2023. The three phases of the plan are 1) To institutionalize (in 2020) by setting up national agencies and developing action plans and strategies, 2) To operationalize (in 2021) by conducting research, setting standards, building capacity and 3) To implement (from 2022) this strategic action plans. Then plan offers a detailed table of the three phases, specific actions to be taken, and funds required for the purpose. The plan prioritizes the industrial, building, transport, power and agriculture sectors as key areas of focus.
