This Act contains the national environmental strategy and plan that creates a balance between economic growth and environmental protection to meet the aspirations of the Suriname people. There are provisions on an Environmental Fund which will finance research on climate change and biodiversity loss; and the need to stay informed about international developments and to comply with international agreements, including the UNFCCC.
