This document reaffirms the government's commitment to meet the National Energy Policy objective of fostering economic development in rural areas by establishing the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency and Rural Energy Fund. These are dedicated to the commercial development and supply of modern energy services to rural areas with an emphasis on utilising locally available renewable resources.
The Order also asserts the commitment to use biomass and other sources not contributing to deforestation or food insecurity.
