This Opinion sets the target of 2030 for the preliminary establishment of green low-carbon agricultural systems. It sets out the aims to reduce the use of resources and inputs; the use of waste; the promotion of stable and diversified agricultural systems; and low-carbon supply chains. The implementation of these aims is to promote value transformation, recognising the ecological value of green agriculture products, and improve the carbon sequestration function of the agircultural sector. There is a focus on reducing methane emissions from rice fields, nitrogen dioxide emissions from agricultural land, methane emissions from enteric fermentation, and methane and nitrogen dioxide emissions from manure management.
