Summary

This law sets up the Ivorian Forestry Code in order to define sustainable management rules for the country's forests. The law notably aims at reinforcing the forests' contribution to sustainable development, preserve and value the biological diversity, and promote the active participation of local populations and NGOs to sustainable management of forests. The document specifies the different categorisations of forests (for biodiversity conservation, for sustainable commercial use).
