Summary

This Plan seeks to build adaptive capacity and resilience in urban centres, protect urban infrastructure and environments, and facilitate the integration of climate change adaptation considerations into policies, programmes and activities. In doing so, it focuses on the populations most vulnerable to extreme weather events and adverse impacts of climate change.The following objectives are set:

  • Reduce existing vulnerabilities to climate change through capacity building within adaptation and resilience of cities and infrastructures;
  • Integrate measures into policies, programmes and activities, and into specific development planning processes and strategies aimed at cities and local planning.
