National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) 2025

National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) from 2025 aims to provide a comprehensive and proactive long-term framework to promote effective disaster responses by national and subnational authorities. The plan acknowledges climate change as one of the dominant threats to Pakistan's economy and society, and underscores the need for better disaster preparation as these risks increase. It contains objectives for general capacity building, alongside media engagement, risk prioritisation, hazard analysis, provincial co-ordination and academic knowledge-sharing. The plan also contains specific interventions including the formation of a National Drainage Plan, to reduce flood risk, and climate-smart vegetation choices for crops and erosion-reduction plantings.
