National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act 2016 (No. 2 of 2016)
Summary
This law creates a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to formulate a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Policy and a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Centre to act as the main institution in Mauritius for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of disaster risk management activities. It also requires the government to, through these institutions, create a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Strategic Framework and a National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan for implementing concrete disaster risk management measures.
