National Strategy and Action Plan for Sustainable Consumption and Production (2016-2025)
Summary
Jordan's SCP-NAP (2016-2025) addresses three priority sectors namely Agriculture/Food Production, Transport, and Waste Management. It recalls target scenarios for these sectors from Jordan's Vision 2025, some of which are a transition to sustainable, local, agricultural production, increase in forest area, developing public transport infrastructure, and developing systems to treat, sort, re-use and recycle waste to avoid emissions. The SCP-NAP builds on Vision 2025 with operational objectives for each sector, such as promoting green finance for sustainable organic farming, promoting technological innovation for land-use planning related to agriculture, facilitating use of low-carbon transport alternatives, and several other key objectives. The SCP-NAP identifies a comprehensive list of actions, budgets, timeline and a list of main stakeholders for the implementation of its vision.
