Summary

The Raw Material Strategy seeks to secure a sustainable supply of non-energy mineral raw materials for Germany and sets out a set of measures to achieve this goal.

To this end, the Strategy also incorporates climate considerations. For example, measure no. 11 addresses environmental and climate change-related challenges and tasks the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to support the World Bank in furtherance of a climate smart mining strategy with the aim of making the mining sector more climate-sensitive and environmentally friendly.
