Regulation 673/2022 on the Implementing Rules of the Latvia’s Plan of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, the Third Component “Reducing inequalities", the reform No 3.1 “Regional policy”, the investment No 3.1.1.6.i for the “Purchase of zero-emission vehicles for implementation of municipal functions and provision of municipal services” sets out detailed rules for administering and financing Latvia’s programme to promote the acquisition of zero-emission vehicles (especially electric buses and charging infrastructure) by municipalities and other public sector entities as part of the implementation of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) measures focused on climate and environmental improvements in transport. The available grant for this investment is 8,799,261 EUR. It defines eligibility criteria, application and implementation procedures, and how support is provided for procuring electric buses and associated infrastructure with the aim of reducing transport sector greenhouse gas emissions, accelerating the shift away from fossil fuels, and modernising public transport fleets in line with Latvia’s climate and energy targets.
