Summary

The document is designed as an open living framework document and a fundamental basis for strategic management processes within the Ministry of Agriculture. It reiterates the long-term vision of the Ministry, which entails a competitive and sustainable Czech agriculture, forestry and water management. Its ambition is to create a long-term sustainable, competitive, and entrepreneurially diverse agricultural complex that will be able to respond to global challenges such as climate change, geopolitical instability, demographic changes, and pressure on environmental standards. The document is also a tool for implementing the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and other national and European policies in the period up to 2030 and beyond.

The strategy defines the basic long-term priority, which will be achieved through:

• Sustainable food security and adequate self-sufficiency;

• Sustainable management of natural resources, protection and promotion of biodiversity, mitigation and adaptation to climate change;

• Balanced territorial development of the economy and communities, including job creation;

• Reduction of emissions into the environment;

• Processing of production.
