Rwanda's Vision 2050 sets out a long term vision for national development aiming for sustainable growth across a wide range of sectors, robust climate resilience and low emissions. It aims to achieve high income and carbon neutral status by 2050. The vision places a particular emphasis on climate adaptation in the agri-food sector, promoting measures such as new forms of crop risk insurance, decentralised grain reserves, irrigation and general technological improvements to productivity. Through these efficiency gains and growth in other sectors, it aims to bring the portion of the population employed in agriculture to below 30%.
