<p>Driven by the constitutional mandate and grounded in structural administrative regulations, this Committee was established to provide a coordinated response to the climate and ecological crisis. The Committee's vision recognises that the current moment demands a fundamental shift in the relationship with the environment, particularly in degraded areas. To address this, the regulator considers a Just Socio-Ecological Transition crucial, involving governance that actively incorporates local territories.The primary function of the Committee is to advise the President on implementing a Just Socio-Ecological Transition, which encompasses social transformation, environmental protection, and sustainable economic development. The Transition prioritises decent work, gender and intergenerational equity, resilience, and ecological restoration. The Committee will facilitate coordination among various governmental bodies, propose policies and legislative changes, and gather relevant information. Additionally, it will create spaces for information sharing and skills development within the government.Chaired by the Minister of Environment, the Committee will meet regularly and may form subcommittees, inviting public authorities and private stakeholders if needed. The ultimate goal is to advance a new development model in Chile that balances economic activities with environmental protection, while striving to provide a better quality of life for its citizens.</p>
