<p>This document establishes common rules for the generation, transmission, distribution, energy storage and supply of electricity, together with consumer protection provisions, with a view to creating truly integrated competitive, consumer-centred, flexible, fair and transparent electricity markets in the Union. It aims to ensure affordable, transparent energy prices and costs for consumers, a high degree of security of supply and a smooth transition towards a sustainable low-carbon energy system. Article 33 focuses on the integration of electromobility into the electricity network.Regulation 2022/869 strengthens Directive 2019/944 by ensuring that infrastructure (transmission, storage, smart grids) is planned and implemented in a way that better supports market integration, renewable generation, and system flexibility. Directive 2024/1711 amends Directive 2019/944 by placing stronger obligations and rights within the electricity market: for consumers, for system operators, and for infrastructure supporting the market; all aligned with integrating renewables, enhancing flexibility, improving transparency.</p>
