<p>Tajikistan's Forestry Development Program for 2022-2026 aims to create and restore over 15,000 ha of forests, acknowledging their role in climate change adaptation and mitigation nationally and internationally. It promotes potential future participation in the Green Climate Fund, to invest in further adaptation measures. It also promotes the incorporation of a larger diversity of native trees and shrubs into forestry schemes, to ensure the climate-resilience of forest ecosystems and their beneficial effects.</p>

Geohazards are adverse geological phenomenon's that are capable of causing widespread damage or loss to property, life and the environment, such as earthquakes, volcano eruptions and tsunamis. Climate change can increase the frequency and severity of some geohazards, such as landslides, and soil erosion.
