Summary

The purpose of this Law is to include permanent environmental education, in the national educational system, at the different levels, cycles, grades and stages of the school system, in its different modalities; in public, private and cooperative educational centres, in a multilingual, multi-ethnic and multicultural environment.

Art. 7 stipulates that The Ministry of Education will order that for the Seminar of Guatemalan Social Integration, which is developed by middle-level graduates and specialties from the following year, from the validity of this Law, including topics related to climate change, management of water resources and basins, protection of biodiversity, production more broad, management of renewable energies, development of national bioethics based on attitudes and behaviour for the protection and improvement of the environment, and other scientific and social issues of national interest.
