Forestry and Climate Change Framework for Action 2009-2015

This document sets the government's medium-term forestry and climate change vision. It seeks to enforce the fourth goal of the country's constitution, which is "to ensure that the forest resources of the country are used and replenished for the collective benefit of all Papua New Guinean now and for future generations." The policy's objectives include to manage and protect forest resources as a renewable natural asset, to implement adaptation measures and to contribute to mitigation efforts. It also seeks to ensure benefit sharing in any future carbon trading scheme.
