The Act on the Promotion of Supply and Utilisation of Low-Carbon Hydrogen and its Derivatives for a Smooth Transition to a Decarbonised, Growth-Oriented Economic Structure (Hydrogen Society Promotion Act) mandates the formulation of a basic policy for promoting the supply and use of low-carbon hydrogen; establishes a new business plan approval regime; implements support mechanisms (e.g. subsidies) and special regulatory exemptions for approved business plans; and provides for the drafting of a code of conduct for hydrogen suppliers.
