The law establishes the Foreign Private Capital Mobilisation and Exchange Protection Programme (Eco Invest Brasil Programme), within the scope of the National Climate Change Fund (FNMC), established by Law No. 12,114 of 9 December 2009, with the following objectives:
I - to foster and encourage investments in projects that promote ecological transformation, especially in the areas of transition to sustainable practices and technologies, technological densification, bioeconomy, circular economy, energy transition and infrastructure and adaptation to climate change, among others;
II - to attract foreign investment to the country;
III - to make capital market operations feasible for companies, investors and financial institutions based in the country to raise funds abroad to finance projects that comply with the provisions of item I of this article;
IV - to support the development, liquidity and efficiency of the long-term foreign currency hedge market in the country.
