National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change until 2030

This Plan, which was adopted by the Cabinet Order 380/2019, has been designed as a national-level long-term (for the period until 2030) development planning document. The goal and objectives of the Plan are closely linked to the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals until 2030 and also the UN Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030. The Plan describes the climate change observed so far in Latvia and identifies adaptation solutions for various risks and opportunities related thereto. The plan sets out the overall goal of climate change adaptation and 6 (six) strategic objectives, 14 (fourteen) lines of action and 89 (eighty-nine) measures covering early warning systems, resilient infrastructure, climate-adapted buildings, water and drainage systems, ecosystem protection, invasive species control, and improved climate monitoring, data and research.
