Summary

This document aims to 1) Decarbonise the industry sector by creating a national electrolysis sector, 2) Develop heavy mobility using carbon-free hydrogen, and 3) Support research, innovation and skills development in order to promote future uses.

The updated 2025 Strtategy provides for "smoothing of the objectives of electrolysis installation on the territory over the long period, with up to 4.5 gigawatts targeted for 2030 and a new target of 8 gigawatts installed in 2035". It adopts a "low-carbon hydrogen production support mechanism of four billion euros to secure the competitiveness of low-carbon hydrogen over fifteen years compared to fossil hydrogen".

A new call for projects for the deployment of hydrogen commercial vehicles aims to promote the technological development of fuel cells and tanks with support for the purchase of light commercial vehicles in 2025.
