Summary

This resolution of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment adopts Policy Guidelines for Sustainable Cattle Farming in line with Colombia's Constitutional norms for the protection of the natural environment and international commitments, including under the UNFCCC.


The Guidelines set out a roadmap for the period between 2022 - 2050, with the aim of ensuring that livestock farming in Colombia is modernized and reconverted to sustainable livestock production systems, low in GHG emissions and adapted to climate change to ensure the reilience of the territory. The Guidlines aim to operate in a way that preserves the social and cultural fabric around livestock and promotes green growth and responsible consumption.
