This document regulates emissions from locomotives under the <a href="https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/r-4.2/">Railway Safety Act</a>.&nbsp;<br><br>The purpose of these Regulations is to 1) reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and smoke resulting from the operation of locomotives; and 2) establish emission standards and test procedures for locomotives.<br><br>
