The National Climate Change Plan (the Climate Plan) guides adaptation and mitigation efforts to reduce the adverse effects of climate change and the vulnerability of environmental, social, and economic systems.
The Resolution No. 03, dated September 14, 2023, provides for the update of the Climate Plan and defines it as an instrument of the National Policy on Climate Change (PNMC) to consolidate the strategies, plans, and targets of the Federal Executive Branch, contributing to the objectives of the Policy and to the achievement of the targets established in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement.

Sectoral Plan for Agriculture and Livestock

Brazil’s Sectoral Plan for Agriculture and Livestock is part of the Plano Clima Adaptação framework and aims to strengthen the resilience of agricultural and livestock production systems to climate change. The plan focuses on increasing the adaptive capacity of the sector through public policies, promoting sustainable and climate-resilient farming systems that maintain productivity under changing climate conditions, and conserving and sustainably using genetic resources to support the adaptation of agroecosystems. Through these measures, the plan seeks to enhance food security, rural livelihoods, and the long-term sustainability of Brazil’s agricultural sector.
Main objectives are:
