Action Plan for the restoration of ecosystems and landscapes in El Salvador with an adaptation-based mitigation approach: 2018-2022 project

The present action plan was consolidated, identifying the pertinent guidelines to direct the restoration at the national scale with the support of solid analysis and through a process of participation and consultation, and feedback from the main actors involved in the restoration (see annex 1). In this way, the appropriation of technical inputs is guaranteed, sharing their experiences and defining their own strategies and commitments.
The structure of this document has been divided into three large sections: 1) Current situation, which contains the environmental framework of the landscape of El Salvador and the political and legal framework that supports the restoration; 2) Evaluation of opportunities for restoration, which presents the inputs for decision-making, and the results obtained from the ROAM methodology as support for the development of the strategic approach; and 3) Description of the action plan, which contains the philosophical framework and the strategic framework.
