Summary

This policy document covers eight thematic areas: climate change; good governance; economic growth and resilience; private sector development; social development; nuclear justice; infrastructure development; and partnership for financing and development. Priority areas and actions are identified under these themes with the aim of providing a resilient and prosperous future for the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Under climate change, the priority areas are to improve access to climate finance; and adaptation and resilience. Actions include exploring the possibility of accessing global climate finance credit facilities; implementing the National Adaptation Plan; addressing customary land tenure and individual rights to accommodate the protection of some land and the vacating of unprotected land; and addressing early-stage planning to identify protection needs for key islands (or parts of atolls) to provide for safe relocation of populations as reflected in the Marshall Islands' Sea Level Rise Policy.
