2024PolicyMitigationMore details
Sectors: Industry, Waste, Economy-wide

The Circular Economy Policy Framework aims to guide Malaysia in transitioning towards a circular economy, providing support to manufacturers and contribute to the achievement of national climate goals. In alignment with the National Industrial Master Plan 2030, the Framework promotes a restorative industrial model by encouraging closed-loop material flows, minimising raw material consumption, enhancing recyclability, and increasing the availability of secondary feedstocks. It is projected that by 2030, implementing the framework will generate RM16 billion in savings, reduce CO₂ emissions by 6.5 million tonnes, and divert 14 million tonnes of waste annually.

Examples:
Resilient infrastructure, Fossil fuel divestment, Net zero growth plan, Sustainable fishing
