Climate and Energy Fund Act

The Act supports the development of a sustainable energy system for Austria and the reduction of GHG emissions. Its targets include cutting energy consumption by 25% by 2010 and 45% by 2020. Energy intensity must be decreased by 5% by 2010 and by 20% by 2020. The Fund's activities are focused on three key areas: research into renewable energy systems, development and testing of new transport systems, and acceleration of commercial climate mitigation measures.
