The Strategic Plan on Climate Change for the Disaster Management Sector has a very close relationship with training programs that strengthen resilience to climate change:
1) prepare training plans to strengthen capacities at the national and local level in order to promote awareness of hazards, vulnerabilities and capacities in mitigating impacts of climate change;
2) contribute to sharing knowledge and public awareness of resilience capacity to Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction);
3) contribute to achieving the government’s development plan in a sustainable manner, in particular, poverty reduction.
The Strategic Plan's specific purposes are : 1) to promote the relationship between DRR and CCA; 2) to promote attention on disaster risk management by focusing on vulnerabilities, poverty and the causes of disasters; 3) to show the benefits of promoting capacities in adapting to climate change; 4) to promote management of unprecedented events and the uncertainty of climate change.
