Climate Neutrality Roadmap

Bulgaria adopted a climate neutrality roadmap (last updated in July 2024) based on a report with scenarios and recommendations prepared by the Energy Transition Commission in September 2023. It allows coal-fired power plants to operate without restrictions until at least 2038.&nbsp;

Tradable permits are market-based tools that grant permission for specific activities, frequently used to regulate emissions. These permits can be issued within a trading system to manage environmental impacts.

Direct investments by the governments using public funds. This can be to support climate initiatives or integrate climate into other projects.

Financial actors and resources that are primarily directed towards climate change mitigation, adaptation and compensation.

Either money or something of monetary value is transferred between two or more organisations, people or countries.
