Summary

This plan seeks to achieve climate-resilient productivity and promote climate-smart responses to support food security and livelihood strategies in Myanmar. To accomplish this, the plan establishes that Myanmar must: - Integrate climate change into relevant policies, planning and budgeting procedures, and put these into practice, taking into account gender considerations.- Adopt climate-resilient and environmentally sound adaptation technologies and climate-smart management practices, supported by international and domestic finance.- Establish institutional coordination and a multistakeholder engagement framework.Climate change has already challenged the agriculture sector in Myanmar by affecting rice yields and livestock production, while disasters such as foods and cyclones have caused massive destruction in rural areas. This plan will help enhance the sector's resilience while ensuring sustainable development.
