The NAP's climate change communication strategy aims to make adaptation options visible for building a climate-resilient society by 2030. This vision is based on that of the NAP and its main objective is to inform and raise awareness among all stakeholders (civil society, the media, households, women's and youth associations, institutional and community actors, the private sector, research institutes and centers, and parliamentarians) about the NAP's priorities in order to facilitate its ownership, implementation, and monitoring by all stakeholders.
The communication strategy includes three main objectives: (i) to inform and raise awareness among all the aforementioned stakeholders about the NAP's priorities in order to facilitate its ownership, implementation, and monitoring by all stakeholders; (ii) to encourage populations and actors from civil society, research, and the private sector to adopt good climate change adaptation practices; (iii) to collect, document, and share information on climate change adaptation measures and (iv) to coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the communication strategy and to foster exchanges among the stakeholders involved. The communication strategy also defines four strategic areas: (i) ownership of the NAP by policymakers; (ii) raising public awareness of climate change adaptation options; (iii) documenting and sharing information on climate change adaptation measures; and (iv) coordination. The strategy targets all parties affected by climate change at the national level. Communication methods have been identified to disseminate the universal and specific key messages developed in this strategy.
