Disaster Preparedness and Relief Act (Cap. 33:05)

This Act makes provision for the prevention of disasters in Malawi and for disaster preparedness and disaster mitigation. There shall be a Commissioner for Disaster Preparedness and Relief who shall, among other things: supervise the the establishment of civil protection organizations and civil protection areas and control and direct personnel, materials and services for the purposes of this Act. The Act provides for the establishment of the National Disaster Preparedness and Relief Committee of Malawi.
