Egypt's Sovereign Sustainable Financing Framework

This framework updates Egypt’s 2020 Green Financing Framework, to include additional green and social projects to better align with the national strategy for sustainable development set out in Egypt’s Vision 2030. Green projects fall under the following categories: clean transportation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change adaptation, pollution prevention and control, sustainable water and wastewater management, terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity conservation. Social projects fall under the following categories: affordable basic infrastructure, access to essential services including financing, education and healthcare services, affordable housing, socioeconomic advancement and empowerment, financing to support employment generation or unemployment alleviation, and food security and sustainable food systems.
