Summary

The Environment Act requires that the roles and responsibilities of the Department of environment with regard to climate change are to be prescribed by regulation. Regulation may relate to licencing and compliance; waste management and pollution prevention; and biodiversity conservation. The statute also requires carbon footprint scheme to be administered and listed in the regulation.
