This law replaces Bill No. 528/2020 by expanding its scope beyond initial proposals, providing Brazil’s first comprehensive legal framework for CCS, integrating multiple national decarbonization programs, and setting enforceable targets and regulatory oversight for the transition to low-carbon fuels.
