The National disaster risk reduction policy is aligned to the Natural Disaster Management Act 1998, which governs disaster risk reduction in Fiji. The policy aims to enable Fiji to deliver on its priority of preventing new disaster risk and reducing existing disaster risk. This will be mainstreamed across sectors to achieve a number of outcome targets that align with international targets set e.g. by the Sustainable Development Goals.
