This law establishes the Global Change Impact Studies Centre in Pakistan, whose task it is to study the impact of climate change in Pakistan. The Centre's specific duties are to: (1) prepare and submit project plans to its board of governors, (2) execute and implement approved project plans, (3) collaborate with national and international organizations to research climate change further, (4) hold seminars, conferences, workshops, and training courses, and publish research related to climate change, (5) advise government and recommend sectoral guidelines for adaptation and mitigation efforts, (6) generate public awareness of climate change and its likely impacts, and (7) perform other acts necessary for its objectives.
