Green Finance Agenda (GFA)

2023PolicyMore details
Sectors: Economy-wide

The Green Finance Agenda is centred around the theme “Investing in the future”. The central aspects of the Green Finance Agenda are mobilising capital for the protection of the climate, making Austria sustainable, the managing of climate-relevant risks accordingly, promoting transparency, and a long-term, cost-effective approach to the capital market. Under the Green Finance Agenda, many measures have already been implemented with success, among which the Green Finance Alliance, the Green Investment Hub, the issuing of the first Austrian Green Bond, and activities related to Green Financial Literacy.

The Green Finance Agenda guides Austria on its way to a climate-friendly, ecologically sustainable financial sector. Moreover, it identifies action areas and implementation steps that enable the scaling of sustainable financial instruments for climate-friendly investments.

Examples:
Resilient infrastructure, Fossil fuel divestment, Net zero growth plan, Sustainable fishing
