<p>The CCS Long-Term Roadmap aims to boost deployment of CCS technologies.</p><p><br></p>

This subsidy aims to support renewal of equipment with high energy consumption efficiency performed at factories and business sites.<br>(A) Advanced business: Focusing on energy -saving investments that have high technical and energy -saving performance and are now expected to expand their introduction potential, etc. I will do it.<br>(B) Made -to -order business: We provide support for equipment renewal, process renovation, and energy -saving efforts in which multiple businesses are linked, including the introduction of custom -made equipment that requires individual design.<br>(C) Designated equipment introduction project: Supports renewal to specific Uti triti facilities, production equipment, etc. with high energy saving performance.<br>(D) Enemiya business: Energy management support services with enema business operators will be concluded, and we will support efficient and effective energy -saving efforts by EMS control and operation improvement.<br><br>This policy is part of a 10 year strategy, and should contribute to the reduction of 18.46 million kl in crude oil conversion by further promotion of energy -saving capital investment.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) developed this document to set a direction for transition toward achieving carbon neutrality in 2050 for GHG-intensive industries. The 5th Strategic Energy Plan details the government's vision to 2030 and 2050 in order to enforce the Basic Act on Energy Policy. The Plan notably defines an increased role of renewables in the medium and long terms, and determines the nuclear policy post Fukushima. The Outlook sets out the optimal combination of energy sources for 2030.

This document was developed by METI. It defines how the Green Innovation Fund can be used to achieve a power generation cost of 8 to 9 yen/kWh with fixed-bottom wind turbines and technology to commercialise floating offshore wind turbines at internationally competitive cost levels. The plan supports the development of technology for wind turbines, floating structures, etc. and support demonstrations based on integrated designs for equipment such as wind turbines, floating structures and cables, that will be suitable for the meteorological and marine conditions in Asia.

Establishing a grant to provide continuous and comprehensive support for local governments that are making efforts to decarbonize (¥20bn).</li><li>budget allocated to public works expenditures related to disaster prevention and disaster mitigation.</li></ul>

<div>This Law establishes basic principles relating to the establishment of a food system that is harmonised with the environment. It aims to contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture, forestry, fisheries and the food industry, whilst ensuring a stable food supply for citizens.&nbsp;<br><br>Some relevant provisions include:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Article 19: Establishes a certification system to facilitate adoption of environmentally friendly activities by farmers, foresters and fishermen</li><li>Article 10: Promotion of soil fertility through the effective use of livestock manure and reducing the use of chemically synthesised fertilisers; and introducing production methods using technology to control greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.</li><li>Article 31: Establishing a system to allow organic farmers and neighbouring conventional farmers to form agreements and define cultivation management responsibilities (e.g. pest control)&nbsp;</li></ul>

This Act sets the legal framework to take measures such as the formulation of basic policies, designating maritime areas as targets of promotion projects, creating a certification system for plans related to the licensed use of such designated maritime areas, etc., for the promotion of the utilisation of specific maritime areas related to the development of power generation facilities while making efforts to harmonise with other measures related to the ocean.

This Act aims at enhancing adaptation efforts in Japan. It enshrines into law the 2015 National Adaptation Plan and sets updated obligations. It charges authorities to take effective measures in various fields based on "reliable scientific information". It further promotes international cooperation and the involvement of private entities in adaptation efforts. Climate change impact assessments will have to be published every five years by the Ministry for the Environment. Municipalities should establish local climate change adaptation plans. The Act will enter into force in December 2018.

This Act provides for 1) regulatory measures for mandatory compliance with energy efficiency standards for large-scale non-residential buildings, and 2) incentive measures such as a labeling system displaying compliance with energy efficiency standards and exception of floor-area ratio regulation for certified building. The incentive measures were implemented on April 1, 2016, and regulatory measures on April 1, 2017. The Act further details the standards and the labelling system for energy efficiency.
