The Law on Ambient Air Quality sets measures for avoidance, prevention or reduction of harmful effects from ambient air pollution on human health and the environment. It establishes limit values for the ambient air quality and alert thresholds, emission limit values, air quality monitoring and control and monitoring of sources of emissions and other measures aimed at protection against certain activities by legal entities and individuals having direct or indirect impact on the quality of air. Pollution that may lead to climate change shall also be controlled.
