Low-Carbon Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030 with a view to 2050

The Low-Carbon Development Strategy aims to promote sustainable growth while mitigating and adapting to climate change in the long-term. The overall vision of the strategy harmonises renewable and secure energy, well-integrated low-carbon public transport, efficient agriculture and effective waste management across the economy. The strategy also covers financing, containing cost estimates for Croatia's green transition under specified transition scenarios. Quantified targets in this strategy include a 36.6% share of renewables in gross direct energy consumption by 2030. The strategy includes ministerial responsibilities domestically, indicator statistics for monitoring strategy implementation, research and development priorities, and education/citizen involvement.
