The document establishes a list of priority sectors for the Government of Belize to focus efforts upon, including agriculture, tourism, energy, forestry and fisheries. This strategy is meant to serve as a roadmap for all official bodies of the Government of Belize, including the National Climate Change Office under the Ministry of Forestry, Fisheries and Sustainable Development.
The Policy guides the short, medium and long-term processes of adaptation and mitigation of Climate Change in accordance with national objectives for sustainable development in addition to regional and international commitments.
