This strategy sets the government's long-term development vision for the country. It was approved by Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic of October 31, 2018 No. 221.
Point 3.2 of the strategy focuses on the environment, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. It notably identifies the expansion of green space as a key element in reducing the risks of climate change, land degradation and air pollution.
Greening efforts are further associated with an enhancement of carbon sequestration capacities alongside economy-wide mitigation measures.
